chapter 1 reflection

In this chaper, there are alot of pointers to teach us how to love maths in order to teach the children and ways in which we can incoperate it to the lessons. there are also ways discuss why we should love the subject and that maths is not inherented and everyone can do it .I have learnt a whole new theory about maths and now i have began to like the subject .
I like the equity principle as it states that all children must have the adequate support and opportunity to learn mathemetics regardless of personal chahracters backgrounds and physical challange . i also believe that and i believe that maths is not only calculation but its a daily necessity as we use it everyday .
the other change i like is the change from tradtional curricular to standards based curricula.Although the name might be similar the whole approach had change .Traditonal curricula is the approach of including everything which makes the book so thick that the teachers must cover so many chapers leaving it to be a teacher directed class which she teach 1 topic in a day demonstarting and explaining how to do the procedures .whereas , standards based curricula is based on how childen learn maths and on how concepts develop over time allowing the teacher to explain and giving the children alot of practices on understanding the procedures.
After reading this chapter ,i will follow by the guide of how to be a best maths teacher by having the knowledge of mathematics by being an instrustional leader have persistence ,have positive attitude so that the children will also have the same attitude and they will like maths and to be ready for change .Through this i hope i will become a good teacher to guide my children and help them love maths .
